Ingredients to Make Fried Pickle Dip
Here is a visual overview of the ingredients in the recipe. Scroll down to the recipe at the bottom for quantities.
- Panko breadcrumbs: Panko breadcrumbs are what give this recipe that little hint of something fried. They are perfect! I don’t recommend substituting regular bread crumbs.
- Cream cheese: You could save a few calories and use reduced fat if you wish.
- Sour cream: I prefer the richness of full fat, but again, you could use reduced fat
- Mayonnaise
- Ranch flavoring packet: If you buy a double pack, you can use the other pouch for this Bagel Dip Recipe!
- Smoked paprika: You could also use regular paprika and a dash of hot sauce or just leave it out.
- Dill pickles: Use any brand you prefer.
- Butter

- Kick up the heat with some diced jalapenos or a tablespoon of cajun seasoning

Recipe FAQs
You don’t have to use dill pickles but traditionally fried pickles are made with dill pickles. You could easily swap out the dill pickles for another savory pickle like spicy or garlic pickles. I wouldn’t recommend bread and butter or sweet pickles for this recipe.
This dip is amazing with any salty dippers. It’s great with potato chips, ritz crackers, toasted baguettes or even Cheese its. You could also serve it with fresh veggies!
It’s definitely possible to make this dip ahead and store until you are ready to serve. If you do this I recommend not adding the Panko crumbs until just before you serve, to keep them from getting soggy too quickly.
If you have leftovers you can store the dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Give it a good mix to enjoy again and if possible, add more of those toasted panko crumbs! It should stay good for about five days.
I do not recommend freezing this dip as the texture will change when it is thawed.
