Ingredients shown are used to prepare mummy pigs in a blanket.
  1. Hot Dogs: You can use any brand of hot dog you prefer. I like to cut the hotdogs in half to make them cute and snack-size, but you can leave them whole if you want.
  2. Crescent Roll Dough: Choose any refrigerated crescent roll dough. You will need to press the perforations in the dough together so that the roll is in one large sheet.
  3. Candy Eyes: The eyes are what really make this dish fun, but if you don’t have any on hand you could use a dab of mustard instead.

Equipment

  • Knife or pizza cutter
  • Baking Sheet

Ingredients

  • 8 hot dogs, cut in half
  • 1 pkg crescent roll dough
  • 32 Candy eyes

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Open the package of crescent roll dough, then roll out the dough, using your fingers to press the seams together.
  • Use a knife to cut long strips lengthwise, about ¼” wide.
  • Wrap the dough around the hot dog half, leaving space for the eyes.
  • Place on an ungreased, unlined baking sheet and bake for about 15 minutes or until the dough turns golden brown.
  • When the Mummy Pigs in a Blanket are done, remove them from the oven. Tuck the candy eyes into the mummies. It’s easiest if you can tuck the edge underneath the crescent roll dough. If you can’t, add a dollop of ketchup onto the back of the eyes, and place them on the hot dogs.
