Ingredients for Crockpot Christmas Crack
Here is a visual overview of the ingredients in the recipe. Scroll down to the recipe at the bottom for quantities.
- Peanuts: I use both salted and unsalted. You could substitute cashews instead of peanuts if you prefer.
- Peanut Butter Chips: Peanut butter chips give this a great texture, but you could use butterscotch chips if you are not a fan of peanut butter and chocolate. You could also use a scoop of peanut butter if you do not have Peanut Butter Chips.
- White Chocolate Bark: I find that bark melts the best, but you could use white chocolate chips or candy melts instead.
- Chocolate Bark: I prefer to use semi-sweet chocolate as it melts well with the white chocolate but you could also use milk chocolate if you want to be even creamier.
- Toppings: Any toppings are optional, but I love to sprinkle my final product with flaky sea salt, mini M&Ms or Christmas colored sprinkles.

- Sweet and Salty: Pretzels

Expert Tips
- Your crockpot may run warm or cool, so keep an eye on your mixture to ensure the candy melts but does not burn. After the first hour you may want to check your crockpot every 15 minutes or so.
- If you want to add toppings like sprinkles or flaky salt, do it quickly before the mixture cools and solidifies.
- Be sure and give your candy time to cool. It will become more solid as it cools. If it’s not solid when you try to pick it up, you didn’t wait long enough! You can place the baking sheet in the refrigerator or freezer to speed up the process.
Recipe FAQs
Store Christmas Crack in an airtight container for up to a month. It will be fine at room temperature or can be kept in the refrigerator.
You can also freeze your candy for up to three months. Be sure and freeze it in a single layer so the balls don’t meld together when thawing.
It’s definitely possible to make this Christmas Crack on the stovetop but it will take a little more babysitting to make sure your candy is not scorched by the heat.
Add all the chocolate and the peanut butter chips in a pot over low heat. Stir gently until the mixture is melted. Add your peanuts and scoop and cool as usual.
