Notes

Recipe Copyright The Domestic Spoon. For educational or personal use only.
  • White Bread: You can use any white sandwich bread you prefer. The softer and sweeter, the better.
  • Creamy Peanut Butter: You could certainly use crunchy peanut butter if you like a little crunch but there is something so dreamy about the creamy peanut butter mixed with fluffy marshmallow creme. Use any brand you prefer!
  • Marshmallow Fluff: Traditional fluffernutters are made with marshmallow fluff. There is a difference between marshmallow fluff and marshmallow cream and while that may be important in baking or fudge making, for the purpose of a good ol’ fluffernutter, you can use either one. Use your leftover marshmallow fluff to make this Marshmallow Fluff Frosting or this Booty Dip!
  • Recipe Variations: This sandwich, like any sandwich, is easy to customize and make your own. Here are a few tips to try:
  • Toast the bread: You can either toast your bread before you add your peanut butter and marshmallow fluff or you can add some butter to the outside of your bread and grill it like a grilled cheese. The peanut butter and marshmallow fluff will melt slightly when it is warm, which makes this sandwich extra gooey and messy. The toasted bread adds another layer of delicious flavor and texture.
  • Add Some Flavor: You can add something fruity like jelly, bananas, raspberries or even use strawberry or raspberry marshmallow fluff. You could also add some cookie butter or nutella. Fluffernutter is also delicious with crushed potato chips or bacon bits for a salty little addition.
