Equipment

  • Microwave-Safe Bowl
  • Fork or Spoon
  • Parchment Paper
  • Baking Sheet

Ingredients

  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 2 Tablespoon Vegetable oil, divided (can also use coconut oil)
  • 20 frozen sliced strawberry pieces
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Line a plate with parchment paper. Set aside.
  • Place 1 cup white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and add 1 Tablespoon of vegetable oil into the bowl.
  • Microwave on high for 30 seconds. Remove the bowl, stir, then microwave again for another 30 seconds. Repeat this in 30 second increments until the white chocolate chips are totally melted (it usually takes me 3 rounds).
  • Drop 1 sliced, frozen strawberry into the white chocolate and use a fork/spoon to turn the strawberry until it is fully coated in white chocolate. Set on the parchment paper-lined plate. Repeat with all of the strawberries.
  • Place the plate in the freezer and allow the strawberries to chill for 5 minutes.
  • In the meantime, melt 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips. To do so, place the semi-sweet chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and add 1 Tablespoon of vegetable oil into the bowl.
  • Microwave on high for 30 seconds. Remove the bowl, stir, then microwave again for another 30 seconds. Repeat this in 30 second increments until the semi-sweet chocolate chips are totally melted (it usually takes me 3 rounds).
  • Remove the white chocolate strawberries from the fridge and coat them in the semi-sweet chocolate, using the same technique as step 4..
  • Place them back on the parchment paper lined plate and then place the plate back in the fridge for another 10 minutes until the chocolate is set.
  • Enjoy immediately or place the finished strawberries in a plastic resealable bag for later enjoyment.

  • White Chocolate Chips: I have a hard time melting the Nestle white chocolate chips. I recommend the store-brand ones at Walmart as I have the easiest time melting those.
  • Vegetable Oil or Coconut Oil: This is optional but makes the melted chocolate a little thinner, shinier, and easy to work with. If you’d prefer to stay away from adding oils, you can totally make these without!
  • Frozen Sliced Strawberry Pieces: I do not recommend using full frozen strawberries. You can use any size sliced frozen strawberries you want but keep in mind you don’t want them too thick to bite into. I do not recommend freezing fresh strawberries. The recipe will only work if you use pre-frozen strawberries.
  • Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips: You can also use milk chocolate or dark chocolate if you prefer
  • You can purchase sliced frozen strawberries from the store or freeze your own when strawberries are in season. Freeze them at the height of ripeness and the flavor will last for months.
  • If you purchase strawberries from the store, be sure and purchase strawberries that have no sugar added. Any sugar coating on the strawberries won’t work for this recipe.
  • You can use a fork or spoon to coat your strawberries or I’ve also seen people use a toothpick to dip berries into chocolate for easy handling.
