Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (193°C) for about 5 minutes.
Pat the 6 chicken drumsticks dry with a paper towel.
In a bowl, drizzle the drumsticks with 2 tbsp olive oil, 1/4 tsp onion powder, 1 tsp smoked paprika, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp black pepper and 1/4 tsp oregano. Use your hands to turn the chicken, making sure the surfaces are evenly coated.
Place the seasoned drumsticks in the air fryer basket in a single layer, leaving space between each piece.
Cook them in the air fryer at 380°F (193°C) for 18-20 minutes, or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and the skin is crispy.
Once cooked, remove the drumsticks from the air fryer and let them cool slightly. Brush the drumsticks with the barbecue sauce, coating them evenly on all sides.
Return the drumsticks to the air fryer for an additional 2-4 minutes to caramelize the BBQ sauce.
